Somehow a month has gone by without a single word from me. Sometimes I wonder where the time goes. I don't feel as busy as you all must think I am, but I suppose maybe I am busier than even I suspect. Anyway, getting back into my work routine has been rough. Little Emily especially got very used to having her Mommy home all day every day and was none too happy to be left with her Mama upon my return to work.
One morning, Angelines slipped into bed with Emily when I got up to get ready for work thinking that she would sleep longer if she felt the presence there beside her. Emily groggily began to wake up and rolled over to nurse. When she saw her Mama instead of me she jumped up (literally stood right up in bed), shouting "No, no, no!! Mama allí! (pointing to our big bed) Mommy aquí!" (pointing to the space in her small bed where the two of us usually snuggle up). Then of course she began sobbing uncontrolably. Thankfully, I hadn't left yet and was able to nurse her a bit and calm her down before heading out the door. Poor baby!
But the biggest news around these parts latley is that my parents flew in to Málaga Wednesday afternoon. Emily hasn't had a nap for two days because she's been too excited to calm down and sleep in the middle of the day. Today, however, she was out in record time--her grandma is wearing her out. ;) Although, I suppose it's mutual because Grandma went down for a nap today, too!
It is a miracle of modern technology that Emily knows her grandparents so well even though they live half way around the world. We had spent all day Wednesday telling Emily that we would be picking up "Ga" and "Papa" at the airport later, but I don't think she really understood what that meant. When she saw my parents walk through the doors at the arrivals terminal in Málaga, her little face immediately lit up and she gasped, "Papa!" It was about the most adorable thing I think I've ever seen.
It is wonderful to head off to work knowing she's spending quality time with her American Gparents. :)
I'm so happy she is getting to spend time with Mom and Dad! And so jealous, soon she must come visit her cool American Titas (and we'd like to see you as well ;)) Love you Op!
